Residential renovation goes smoothly when there is
communication and knowledge. The more understanding you
have about the process, the smoother your experience
will be. We invite you to discuss the full scope of your
project with us while you’re still in the exploration
stage.
Here are a few rules that can help guide your
decisions down the road:
- Renovation work is more expensive than
new construction. Do not use new
construction costs per square foot to gauge
renovation work.
- Living thru a renovation, no matter how
good the company, is a difficult and demanding
experience.
The rewards, however, are worth the sacrifice.
- Quality square footage is a better
investment than quantity. At Hunter Reising
we believe in building quality spaces that meet your
needs and enhance the value of your property
investment.
- The drawings become the contract
document.
The more detailed the drawings, the better the
understanding will be between contractor and client
regarding the scope of work.
-
There will always be
a contractor who can do a job for less.
However, quality
materials and quality work cost money. In other
words, you get what you pay for.

"The bitterness of poor quality lasts longer
than the sweetness of good price. "

|
- Do your
cost estimating while in the design phase.
We encounter this tragedy too often. A
homeowner will have design drawings done and then
shop around for a construction cost. Too often,
homeowners end up with plans they cannot afford to
build. Select a designer/builder at the beginning
and design the project from a cost perspective
during the design process

Repeat rule #6.
